What you get
An invoice from Atrium carries a tax split worked out from the branch, a SAC code on every line and the next number in your own series. At month-end, the figures come out as GSTR-1 files for your accountant.
- The place of supply is the branch. Each branch has its own address, state and GSTIN, and an invoice is issued under that branch's registration. A desk invoice therefore carries CGST + SGST, even when the member company is registered in another state.
- A SAC code on every line. Coworking rental uses SAC 997212.
- Your numbering carries on. Atrium continues your existing invoice series, and each PDF carries your logo.
- Payments recorded with their reference. UPI, NEFT, IMPS, RTGS, cheque or cash, each with its UTR or reference.
- Credit notes for correcting an invoice that has been issued.
How it works on the screens
Billing sits in the Members & billing group of the menu. A month uses the screens in this order.
- Agreements. A service agreement holds the member, the branch, the monthly fee, the deposit and the billing cycle.
- Invoices. Start a new invoice and pick the agreement; Atrium fills in the first line from it. Adjust the lines, then save a draft or issue it straight away. A draft carries only a DRAFT reference, not a number from your tax invoice series, so discarding one leaves no gap.
- Issue. Issuing takes the next number in your series, and the member can see the invoice in the member portal. An issued invoice cannot be edited, and a branch with no GSTIN on file cannot issue one. A mistake is corrected with a credit note.
- Meeting overage. Meeting-room hours used beyond a member's allowance are drafted onto a separate draft invoice, one per contract per month. Staff review it before issuing. It is the only invoice Atrium drafts for you.
- Payments. Record each payment with its mode (UPI, NEFT, IMPS, RTGS, cheque, cash or other) and its UTR or reference. A wrongly entered payment can be corrected, and the screen shows your payment mix.
- GSTR-1. Pick a month, and a branch if you want one. The screen shows how many invoices are ready to file and how many are held back, with a CSV to download for each section.
How members pay
Members pay from My invoices in the member portal once you have added your own Razorpay keys under Integrations. Until then, you record each payment yourself. Atrium creates no UPI request or QR code of its own: UPI comes in through your Razorpay, or you record it by its UPI reference. WhatsApp reminders go out daily at 09:30 IST, for an invoice due in 3 days and for an overdue invoice.
The GSTR-1 files
Each file is in the GST offline-tool format: B2B, B2CS, the HSN summary, documents issued, and credit notes to registered recipients. An invoice that contradicts itself, for example a tax split that disagrees with its place of supply, is held back from the B2B, B2CS and HSN files and listed for review, so no total is built on it; it still counts in documents issued, because its number was issued.
A branch in Karnataka invoices a member company registered in Tamil Nadu ₹10,000 for a month's desk rent. The place of supply is the branch, in Karnataka. GST at 18% is ₹1,800, shown as CGST ₹900 and SGST ₹900, so the invoice total is ₹11,800.
What it doesn't do
- No automatic invoicing. Staff raise every member invoice. Only meeting-room overage is drafted for you, and staff still review and issue it.
- No e-invoicing. Atrium does not generate an IRN.
- No filing. Atrium produces the GSTR-1 files but does not file the return or connect to the GST portal. It does not produce B2CL, exports, advances or amendments.
- No accounting export. Beyond the GSTR-1 CSV files and invoice PDFs, there is no export and no connection to Tally, Zoho or QuickBooks.
- No emailed invoices. Atrium sends no email. Download the PDF, or let the member see it in the portal.
- No autopay. There is no UPI autopay, eNACH or card on file.
- No tax advice. This page describes how Atrium works. Check your own position with your chartered accountant.
Where to go next
Atrium is priced per occupied desk, with unlimited branches and staff logins: see the pricing page. Moving from a spreadsheet or another platform? The five-day checklist covers your invoice numbering and unpaid invoices, and switching to Atrium explains the free move for spaces of up to 250 desks and 100 member companies. The next guides are floor maps and bookings and the front desk, and every feature is listed on the features page.
GST invoicing questions
Does Atrium charge CGST and SGST or IGST on a member invoice?
Atrium sets the place of supply on a member invoice to the branch, so a desk invoice carries CGST + SGST even when the member is registered in another state. This describes how Atrium works and is not tax advice, so check your own position with your chartered accountant.
What is in Atrium's GSTR-1 report?
CSV files in the GST offline-tool format for B2B, B2CS, the HSN summary, documents issued and credit notes to registered recipients. An invoice that contradicts itself is held back in a needs-review list. The report does not produce B2CL, exports, advances or amendments.
Does Atrium raise member invoices automatically every month?
No. Staff raise each invoice, and picking an agreement fills in the line. The one thing drafted automatically is meeting-room overage, onto a separate draft invoice for each contract each month, for staff to review.
